RobotEra: full-size humanoids and a direct-drive hand

RobotEra is an embodied AI company that came out of Tsinghua University's Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences. The product line is three bodies and one hand: the L7, 1.71 m tall with 55 degrees of freedom and a 4 m/s run; the Q5, a 1650 mm wheeled service humanoid with 44 degrees of freedom; and the M7, which offers the L7's upper body on a fixed pedestal. The fourth product is XHAND 1, a fully direct-drive 12-DoF five-finger hand, also available in Lite and PRO versions. On its own pages the company presents a vision-language-action model called ERA-42 and the EraAI end-to-end embodied AI platform, and in May 2026 it announced a funding round of more than USD 200 million led by SF Group, HSG and IDG Capital. Robotlar.org supplies RobotEra bodies to corporate projects in Turkey with enterprise supply and engineering support.

FAQ

Common questions about RobotEra

How many models does RobotEra have?

The manufacturer's own product menu lists three robot bodies (L7, Q5, M7) and three hand versions (XHAND 1, XHAND 1 Lite, XHAND 1 PRO). The Robotlar.org catalogue lists the three bodies.

What is the difference between the L7 and the M7?

The M7 is the L7's upper body: the same arm and hand architecture, no legs. The L7 has 55 degrees of freedom with hands, the M7 has 43. Without legs the M7 suits fixed-station work while the L7 suits work that requires locomotion.

What is the Q5 suited to?

Reception, guidance and companion duties. A 582 x 519 mm chassis footprint lets it pass through narrow aisles and standard doors, and a working range from the floor to two metres covers both an object on the ground and a box on an upper shelf.

Choosing by brand name alone is not enough. Payload, operating environment, shift pattern, bidirectional traffic, and integration requirements should all shape the decision. We can map the right architecture with you.
