Payload and Torque Architecture

• Standing load ≥120 kg, walking load >40 kg. Walking load is the figure to size a project against.
• Maximum joint torque ~360 N·m — a high reserve against a 60 kg body weight.
• Maximum running speed >6 m/s; jump distance >1.6 m, ditch crossing 0.5–1.2 m.
• Climbing angle >45°; continuous ascent of 20–25 cm steps, clearing 40 cm steps in the forward direction.

Mission Time and Energy

A 45 Ah / 2250 Wh, 58 V battery keeps the B2 running for 4–6 hours. Published range figures come paired with load: over 5 hours of walking and more than 20 km unloaded, over 4 hours and more than 15 km with a 20 kg load. The battery is a plug-in type and optional autonomous charging is supported — if the shift must run uninterrupted, the right answer is a closed loop with a charging dock rather than spare packs.

Field Durability

What separates the B2 from the light class is its IP67 rating and a −20 °C to 55 °C operating range. IP67 means full dust ingress protection and resistance to 30 minutes of immersion at 1 metre; field routines involving rain, snow and pressure washing fall inside this class. The gap between it and the AS2-W's IP54 is the single line that decides outdoor inspection work.

Compute and Sensing

• Standard: Intel Core i5 (platform functions) + Intel Core i7 (user development).
• Optional: Intel Core i7 or Orin NX — up to 3 devices.
• Sensor set: 3D LiDAR ×1, depth camera ×2, optical camera ×2.
• B2-W is the variant offered with a wheeled-foot configuration.

Engineering Assessment

The B2 is the heavy-payload, harsh-field end of Unitree's quadruped line. A walking load above 40 kg consolidates equipment-carrying patrol scenarios — thermal camera, gas detector, measurement kit — onto a single platform. The distinguishing lines are payload and IP67; if neither is required, a lighter and cheaper model does the same job. When deciding, do not confuse walking load with standing load: the 120 kg figure is for fixed mounting.
