Mondo Robotics is a robotics company founded with a team working across Shenzhen and Palo Alto. The first model in its lineup is the Beni: an all-terrain camera robot that locks onto a subject and films autonomously. It weighs approximately 1.6 kg, travels at up to 28.8 km/h and clears obstacles up to 25 cm. The camera records 4K at 30 frames per second, 3K at 60 and 1080p at 100, with image stabilization, horizon levelling and HDR colour built in. Tracking runs on AI-based visual perception and requires no remote or beacon; when knocked over the robot rights itself. The battery lasts approximately 1 hour 45 minutes per charge and is user-replaceable. Footage is stored locally on the device and cloud features are optional. Series production of the Beni has begun, with first deliveries planned for autumn 2026. It stands in for a camera operator on one-person shoots: sports footage such as running, cycling, skateboarding and tennis, pet and family videos, and parks and residential areas where drones are restricted. It tracks at up to 28.8 km/h, clears obstacles up to 25 cm and records in 4K. Stairs, high fences and water stop the body, so use is limited to outdoors and single-level interiors.
In three places. Regulation: unmanned aircraft in Turkey are subject to registration, classification and area restrictions, while a ground robot faces no such limit. Framing: a drone looks down and a ground robot up from below eye level, and it is that low angle that conveys speed in running and pet footage. Noise: propeller sound ruins a dialogue recording while a wheeled body does not. In return, a drone is unaffected by obstacles such as stairs and water, whereas a ground robot is not.
Locally on the device and end-to-end encrypted. Cloud features are optional and no account is required for basic filming. As long as the recording stays on the device there is no transfer to an outside server.
