Overview
AgiBot (AGIBOT Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd.) is a Shanghai-based Chinese robotics company that markets its D1 series of quadruped platforms under the AGIQUAD name. The D1 Ultra is the industry-grade member of that series: its positioning is "compact yet powerful, industry grade", with emergency rescue, security, inspection, education and entertainment as target applications.
Hardware highlights: 630 × 360 × 420 mm standing, 16 kg with battery, 12 degrees of freedom, 48 Nm peak torque per joint, 3.7 m/s top speed, 5 kg effective payload, 16 cm stairs, slopes up to 40° and a 35 cm vertical jump. IP54 protection and a 0-40 °C operating range; the aluminum alloy shafts are vacuum press-formed and core components are sealed and treated against corrosion. The battery is 4.6 Ah / 43.2 V for 1-2 hours of operation and a 6 ± 1 km range, charging in about 1 hour. Ethernet, USB, power, SBUS and UART ports accept LiDAR, depth camera, RTK and 4G/5G modules; secondary development is supported through the SDK, URDF and Isaac Sim.
AgiBot's document centre published the user manual, technical specification sheet, flyer and packing list on 25 August 2026.
For organizations with a D1 Ultra requirement we assess sourcing, timing and the quadruped alternatives deliverable today (Unitree Go2 and A2) transparently.
A Compact Quadruped in the Field: Launch Video
The launch video shows the D1 Ultra in dry grassland, on a rubble pile and on a steep shale slope. Reinforcement-learning gait control keeps its balance on stairs, rubble and uneven ground; true all-terrain mobility, suited to patrols, search missions and multi-scenario applications.
Dustproof and Waterproof, High-Standard Structure
With IP54 protection it copes with splashing water, damp, muddy and sandy environments. The aluminum alloy shafts are made by vacuum press forming; core components have sealed protection and anti-corrosion treatment. It sustains 200 hours of stable operation in extreme environments.

Robust Mobility on Complex Terrain
Reinforcement-learning gait control adapts to varied terrain, with self-balancing, anti-tipping and disturbance rejection built in. Top running speed 3.7 m/s, slopes of 30° as standard and up to 40°; forward and upward jumps of 35 cm, continuous stair climbing at 16 cm per step.

High-Performance Motor: High Torque, Impact Resistant, Calibration-Free
48 Nm peak torque and high output torque are enough for complex terrain and loaded operation. Long module lifespan with impact resistance, designed for intensive multi-scenario use. The dual-encoder controller needs no zero-position calibration: the robot is ready to use on startup.

Flexible Development: Compatible with Modules and Payloads
Standardized interfaces support various mounted modules for multi-scenario deployment; the open SDK enables secondary development and payload mounting. Compatible with positioning modules, LiDAR, depth camera, RTK, 4G/5G and image transmission modules; the URDF model allows testing and operation in Isaac Sim and MuJoCo. Note: the intelligent follow function requires the user's secondary development.

From Security Patrol to the Research Lab
Two main scenarios: security patrol, and scientific research and education. The specification page lists emergency rescue, security, inspection, education and entertainment; the flyer adds field exploration and target tracking. Ethernet, USB, SBUS and UART ports allow LiDAR, RTK and 4G modules to be added for patrol and inspection work.

Technical Analysis of the Compact Quadruped
What IP54 and 0-40 °C Tell You
IP54 means limited protection against dust and resistance to water splashing from any direction, not immersion or pressure washing. That is enough for indoor facility patrols, wet floors and light rain, but not for open water or a wash-down bay. The 0-40 °C operating range covers Turkey's indoor and mild outdoor conditions; plans for sub-zero winter work or summer asphalt above 40 °C fall outside the stated limit. The 200-hour extreme-environment test applies within this range.
48 Nm and 16 kg: The Torque-to-Weight Balance
48 Nm of peak torque per joint delivers 40° slopes and a 35 cm vertical jump for a 16 kg body carrying 5 kg. The drive system's specific power is 2 kW/kg; high power density in a light body gives the RL gait room for fast corrections on rubble and stairs. Because dual-encoder joints remove the calibration step, a field team can take the robot out of the case and run it directly.
Battery and Range Arithmetic
4.6 Ah × 43.2 V rated works out to about 199 Wh; that gives 1-2 hours of operation and a 6 ± 1 km range. Charging from 10% to 90% takes about 1 hour. Because the battery is removable and the charging dock is standard, rotating two batteries gets close to uninterrupted patrol in practice; a site planning around a single battery should count on a 1.5-hour task window per shift.

Engineering Assessment
The D1 Ultra adds three things industrial use needs to a Go2-class compact body: IP54 protection, calibration-free dual-encoder joints and a full set of expansion ports. On speed and torque it plays in the same league as the Go2; for heavy patrol, 25 kg payloads and 5-hour shifts the Unitree A2 stays well ahead. The deciding question is body size and budget: if a facility with narrow corridors, stairs and wet floors needs a compact inspection robot, the D1 Ultra is the right class.
