Overview
The KT500 is an industrial-class remote-controlled mower developed for cutting forest firebreaks and maintaining steep embankments. The 3100 × 1400 × 1300 mm body weighs 1,250 kg and works on slopes up to 55 degrees; an in-line four-stroke water-cooled Yanmar diesel delivers 35 kW, and a 28 litre fuel tank with oil-cooled mixing supports long shifts. Speed is set between 0 and 10 km/h and it turns on the spot. The cutter runs 27 teeth at 2,500 rpm with reversible rotation; it cuts stems up to 120 mm and mows 60 mm continuously. Engine start-stop, engine speed and the horn are managed from the remote; there is one-click emergency stop and two batteries. Forest firebreaks, dam and highway embankments, power-line corridors and industrial brush clearing are its target uses.
Mowing on 55 degree slopes
The 1,250 kg tracked body holds on slopes up to 55 degrees. On dam embankments, highway banks and forest firebreaks where people cannot work safely, the operator stays outside with the remote.
Cuts 120 mm stems
The 27-tooth cutter at 2,500 rpm cuts stems up to 120 mm and mows 60 mm continuously; rotation reverses when jammed. Brush and young woodland open in a single pass.
35 kW diesel, 28 litre tank
The in-line four-stroke water-cooled Yanmar diesel delivers 35 kW; the 28 litre tank and oil-cooled system sustain long shifts. Engine and speed are managed from the remote.
Cutting firebreaks
Cutting firebreaks before the forest fire season and clearing power-line corridors are the machine's main jobs; on-the-spot turning gives manoeuvrability in narrow strips and one-click emergency stop completes safety.
