Overview

The Safari 880T is the Safari family member developed for high passability and cross-country capacity. The 1010 × 720 × 435 mm body is stainless steel, weighs 135 kg and carries a 120 kg rated load; the manufacturer gives the loading range as 100 to 260 kg. Interior space is 320 × 275 × 248 mm and chassis height 140 mm. Two 48 V brushless DC motors deliver 82 Nm of rated torque; speed runs from 0 to 1.6 m/s, climbing 40 degrees (stairs included) and obstacle clearance 200 mm. Suspension is the Christie and Matilda four-wheel balanced version with six independent shock absorbers; the tracks are Kevlar-embedded rubber. Protection is IP54, optionally IP67. Motion control is exposed over CAN and secondary development is supported; the top platform is left free for sensing, industrial control, networking and camera equipment.
