Siasun 60T Heavy-Duty

Heavy-Duty Mobile Robot

The Siasun 60T Heavy-Duty is the 60 tonne model of the heavy-duty mobile robot series; it lifts the workpiece by 80 to 100 mm and carries it in every direction with no turning-radius constraint. It localises to ±10 mm on SLAM, magnetic guidance or colour-tape navigation and climbs 3 percent grades; emergency stop, audible and visual alarm and non-contact anti-collision are standard. For die transfer of up to 60 tonnes in automotive press shops and container and battery block handling in port and energy storage yards, its wheel system is designed to spread sixty tonnes on the ground.

Overview

The 60T Heavy-Duty is the 60 tonne model in the heavy-duty line of Siasun's customised mobile robot portfolio. It is the class of die transfer up to 60 tonnes in automotive press shops, container handling at transhipment ports and battery block logistics in energy storage yards; the wheel system spreads sixty tonnes over many wheels and protects the floor. Lifting height is 80-100 mm, positioning accuracy ±10 mm and gradeability 3 percent. Navigation is chosen by site as SLAM, magnetic guidance or colour tape; in its heavy-duty robots Siasun uses natural contour, magnetic, inertial, laser, visual and base station navigation and combines several methods in complex environments. The wheel system balances load bearing with traction and protects the floor; the robot moves in every direction with no turning-radius constraint, carries without bumps under stable speed control and crosses obstacles. Safety hardware consists of an emergency stop, audible and visual alarms and non-contact anti-collision; heavy-duty designs follow ISO 3691-4 at PL d and e. In customised-product fashion, the body and auxiliary mechanisms are designed around the workpiece's centre of gravity, size limits, slope requirement and transfer method; piggyback, chain conveyor and turntable mechanisms are examples. Outdoor editions are protected against rain, snow and dust. The line scales from 3 to 120 tonnes and targets port and container logistics, new energy and energy storage, aerospace and shipbuilding, automotive and construction machinery manufacturing, and steel, metallurgy and heavy industry; references include high-speed train maintenance bases (2010-2015, more than 50 robots), press die transfer up to 60 t, heavy truck assembly since 2018 (10-20 t, dual-vehicle linkage), port container transfer since 2020 (65 t per robot) and energy storage editions in 2024. The robot switches seamlessly between multi-robot coordination and single-robot operation; the fleet layer is the IMRS 2.0 platform, whose TCS dispatch system connects to MES/ERP/WMS through VDA5050, OPC UA, Modbus and MQTT. Robotlar.org supplies the 60T Heavy-Duty to heavy industry and logistics projects in Turkey with enterprise supply, commissioning and engineering support.

ENGINEERING ANALYSIS

60T Heavy-Duty: Technical Analysis

Carrying sixty tonnes without harming the concrete

Sixty tonnes is the weight of a large press die, a full energy storage container or a shipyard steel block; on a few wheels that mass would sink the factory floor. The wheel system of the 60T Heavy-Duty spreads the load over many wheels, keeps traction and protects the floor; Siasun builds the wheel layout of its heavy-duty line on that balance. In automotive press shops Siasun robots carry dies between presses and store with piggyback and chain conveyor mechanisms, and this application reaches 60 tonnes of die-carrying capacity. Since 2020 the same class has been used for container transfer at the world's large transhipment ports (65 t per robot) and since 2024 in energy storage yards with waterproof, outdoor-capable, ultra-low-profile editions.

Its place in the heavy-duty line

The 60T Heavy-Duty sits above the line's 30T model and below the 80T; the series starts at the 3T, 5T, 10T and 20T and scales to 120 tonnes. All models share the same navigation options, ±10 mm positioning, omnidirectional motion and safety hardware; the distinction is payload, lifting height (80-100 mm on the 60T) and the superstructure designed to the workpiece. Outdoor protection comes to the fore in this class: port editions are designed for high temperature, salt spray, uneven ground and the impact forces of hoisting operations; heavy-duty designs follow ISO 3691-4 at PL d and e.

Wheel system and omnidirectional motion

Tens of tonnes crack concrete unless they are spread; in heavy-duty robots the wheel layout therefore matters as much as capacity. The wheel system of the Siasun heavy-duty line balances load bearing with traction and protects the floor; the line scales from 3 to 120 tonnes. The robot moves in every direction with no turning-radius constraint: a 60 t load slides sideways in narrow assembly halls, turns on the spot and travels diagonally. Stable speed control delivers both throughput and bump-free transport; obstacle crossing and bump resistance bring adaptation to different process sites. The lifting mechanism drives under the load, raises it and sets it down at the station.

Navigation and safety

Navigation is chosen by site: SLAM laser mapping, magnetic guidance or colour tape; positioning accuracy is ±10 mm in all three. In its heavy-duty robots Siasun uses natural contour, magnetic, inertial, laser, visual and base station navigation and combines several methods in complex environments; most of the navigation sensors are its own developments. Safety hardware consists of an emergency stop, audible and visual alarms and non-contact anti-collision; heavy-duty designs follow ISO 3691-4 with safety levels engineered to PL d and e, and brakes, stall protection and actuator safeguards are added. Gradeability is 3 percent.

Customisation and outdoor use

The heavy-duty line is a customised product class: the body and auxiliary mechanisms are designed around the workpiece's centre of gravity, the robot's size limits, the slope requirement, the safety of oversized parts and the transfer and docking method; piggyback, chain conveyor and turntable mechanisms are examples. Outdoor editions are protected against rain, snow and dust, with safe outdoor navigation and charging part of the design; in 2024 waterproof, outdoor-capable, ultra-low-profile editions were developed for the energy storage sector. The robot switches seamlessly between multi-robot coordination and single-robot operation; the fleet layer is IMRS 2.0.

Applications

  • Port and container logistics: container transfer at transhipment hubs (since 2020, 65 t class per robot).
  • New energy and energy storage: moving containers and battery blocks in open yards.
  • Aerospace and shipbuilding: large fuselage parts and structural steel.
  • Automotive and construction machinery: press die transfer (up to 60 t), heavy truck chassis assembly (10-20 t, dual-vehicle linkage).
  • Steel, metallurgy and heavy industry: coil, slab and heavy part handling.
  • Rail maintenance: high-speed train frame maintenance bases (2010-2015, more than 50 robots).
