Overview

The G-40X is the outdoor autonomous tow tractor in the industrial park delivery line of Siasun's standard mobile robot portfolio; its rated towing capacity is 40000 kg and it is the heaviest model of the line. The line is the outdoor complement to Siasun's indoor robots: loads such as sheet coils, large press dies, structural steel and energy storage containers move without a driver between factory buildings, warehouse doors and open loading yards. Navigation is multi-sensor fusion; data from 3D LiDAR, GNSS/RTK satellite positioning, inertial navigation and vision sensors merges into one position estimate, the 3D SLAM + IMU + RTK trio delivers precise localisation and path planning adapts to changing site conditions. Travel speed is 2.2 m/s unloaded and 1.5 m/s fully loaded; gradeability is 16 degrees or more. Drive is rear-wheel and the service brake is hydraulically power-assisted. Siasun's patented automatic coupling and decoupling lets the tractor attach to and separate from the load cart on its own. The series is designed for 7x24 all-weather running; the safety design covers remote monitoring, sensor self-check, fault alarms and abnormal-operation protection. Vehicle coordination and software integration optimise the logistics flow as a whole; the fleet layer is the IMRS 2.0 platform, whose TCS dispatch system connects to MES/ERP/WMS through VDA5050, OPC UA, Modbus and MQTT. Target sectors are automotive manufacturing, general manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, 3C and electronics, and lithium battery. The line's other members are the G-5-6X (5 and 6 tonnes), the G-8-15X (8, 10, 12 and 15 tonnes) and the G-20-30X (20, 25 and 30 tonnes); the 3 to 80 tonne heavy-duty mobile robots that carry the load on their backs instead of towing it are a separate line. Robotlar.org supplies the G-40X to factory and logistics site projects in Turkey with enterprise supply, commissioning and engineering support.

ENGINEERING ANALYSIS

G-40X: Technical Analysis

Tow work across the plant site

Loads such as sheet coils, large press dies, structural steel and energy storage containers need 40 tonne class trailers on site; at that weight the tractor's stopping distance, ramp behaviour and coupling safety are engineering topics in their own right. The G-40X puts that train on a driverless footing at a rated towing capacity of 40000 kg: it couples to the load cart by itself, follows the route defined on site and separates on arrival. 1.5 m/s fully loaded and 16 degree gradeability cover ramped crossings with a heavy train; rear-wheel drive secures traction and the hydraulic power-assisted service brake secures stopping.

Its place in the G series

The G-40X is the top model of Siasun's industrial park delivery line: below it sit the 5 and 6 tonne G-5-6X, the 8 to 15 tonne G-8-15X and the 20 to 30 tonne G-20-30X. The four models share the same multi-sensor fusion navigation, the same patented automatic coupling and the same speed and braking structure; the distinction is rated towing capacity. For heavier loads still, Siasun's 3 to 80 tonne heavy-duty mobile robots carry the load on their backs instead of towing it. The line is managed from the same IMRS 2.0 platform.

Outdoor navigation

The laser map of an indoor AMR is not enough on its own outside: rain, sun, long straight roads and gaps between buildings each strain a different sensor. The G series fuses 3D LiDAR, GNSS/RTK satellite positioning, inertial navigation and vision sensors into one position estimate; 3D SLAM + IMU + RTK is the core formula. Path planning adapts to changing site conditions. It travels at 2.2 m/s unloaded and 1.5 m/s fully loaded, climbs grades of up to 16 degrees, and rear-wheel drive with a hydraulic power-assisted service brake secures stopping with a heavy trailer.

Automatic coupling and safety

Siasun's patented automatic coupling and decoupling lets the tractor approach and attach to the carrier on its own and separate on arrival; no one is needed to swap trailers. The series is designed for 7x24 all-weather running. The safety design covers remote monitoring, sensor self-check, fault alarms and abnormal-operation protection; vehicle coordination and management software integration optimise the logistics flow as a whole.

Applications

  • Automotive manufacturing: towing parts trailers between press, body, paint and assembly buildings.
  • General manufacturing: on-site delivery between raw material stores and production halls.
  • Warehousing and logistics: trailer traffic between the open yard and warehouse doors.
  • 3C and electronics: building-to-building material flow across a campus.
  • Lithium battery: heavy trailer transfer between cell, module and pack buildings.

G-40X Frequently Asked Questions

The most commonly asked questions and answers about G-40X.

The heaviest outdoor autonomous tow tractor of Siasun's industrial park delivery line at 40000 kg of towing capacity: it localises outdoors through multi-sensor fusion, travels at 2.2 m/s unloaded and 1.5 m/s loaded, climbs grades of up to 16 degrees and couples to the load cart by itself.

Without depending on a single sensor: data from 3D LiDAR, GNSS/RTK satellite positioning, an inertial measurement unit and vision sensors is fused. Where the satellite signal weakens between buildings, LiDAR and IMU take over; in the open, RTK does; path planning adapts to changing site conditions.

With Siasun's patented automatic hitching and unhitching technology: the tractor approaches the carrier by itself, couples and decouples at the destination. Trailers are swapped without human intervention; trailer and hitch type are set at the survey.

The G series is designed for 7x24 all-weather running; remote monitoring, sensor self-check, fault alarms and abnormal-operation protection are standard. The site's climate and ground conditions are assessed at the survey.

The G-40X runs with vehicle coordination and management software integration; the TCS layer of the IMRS 2.0 platform dispatches tasks by priority and location, handles traffic control and connects to MES/ERP/WMS systems through VDA5050, OPC UA, Modbus and MQTT.

The G-40X is sourced on a project basis: site routes, trailer types, grades and charging points are worked out at the survey; import, commissioning and operator training are part of delivery. For a quotation, send the site plan, the load to be towed and daily trips.
