Overview

The M1 is Genisom's lightweight, high-payload, fully protected industrial quadruped. It measures 930 × 480 × 585 mm standing and 930 × 630 × 200 mm lying, and weighs 41 kg with battery. Continuous operating payload is 30 kg. Four high-performance hub motors give 6 m/s top and 8 m/s limit speed on flat ground; twelve joint motors deliver 180 N·m peak torque, climb 25 cm steps continuously and clear 45° grades and 80 cm vertical obstacles. It walks, slides and crawls over gravel, asphalt, grass, sand, forest floor and rubble, and performs special motions such as climbing high walls, crossing barriers and passing narrow walls. The tightly sealed design gives IP67 protection; a -20 to 55°C range is standard and a -40 to 80°C wide-temperature battery optional. Two 54 V 9.35 Ah batteries are hot-swappable; it runs 5 hours and 29 km unloaded, 3.5 hours and 18 km at full load, and charges in under 2 hours; an optional charging station supports automatic return on low battery. A 100 TOPS 8-core processor, two 8 megapixel wide-angle cameras, IMU, 3D LiDAR, depth camera and RTK module are standard; intelligent obstacle avoidance and real-time video are included, and the mapping-positioning-navigation package (Smart Navigation Pro) is optional. Fifteen open hardware interfaces (2 × Gigabit Ethernet, 2 × USB 3.0, RS232, RS485, 2 × SBUS, PPS) accept carriers and computing modules. At the 2026 Beijing Yizhuang robot challenge it was the only robot to complete the autonomous navigation course end to end and took first place in the quadruped class; at the 2026 Yizhuang half marathon it ran 21 km as a pacing robot in autonomous following without remote control.

Inspection at the substation

In the manufacturer's power-inspection film the M1 roams the switchyard on a 3D map, reads meters and switches with an AI model, flags status anomalies with a thermal camera and sends the report to the management platform.

The most commonly asked questions and answers about M1.

The parameter table gives 41 kg with battery; the roughly 30 kg in the marketing text conflicts with the table. With the 30 kg continuous payload the ratio is about 3:4.

The standard battery works from -20 to 55°C; a wide-temperature battery is optional for -40 to 80°C. Use at -20°C in a petrochemical drill is shown in the film.

On the M1 the mapping, positioning, navigation and obstacle-avoidance package (Smart Navigation Pro) is optional; the 3D LiDAR, depth camera and RTK hardware are standard. On the M1 Pro the package comes as standard.

The M1 Pro adds an ultrasonic sensor, UWB and laser-vision following, voice dialogue, recording and broadcast, the navigation package as standard and an extra 512 GB TF card; the body is 10 mm taller. Payload, speed, battery and protection values are the same.

Charging time is measured at 25°C ambient and range at 1 m/s unloaded; all values are laboratory data and vary with site conditions.
