Overview

The UWorld U1 Pro is the full-body ultra-biomimetic companion robot of UWorld, UBTECH's consumer-grade humanoid brand. We supply UWorld platforms to corporate projects in Turkey through enterprise supply, commissioning and technical integration. Configuration, delivery terms and investment are set by corporate quotation.

Two character options are offered: Nix at 183 cm and 42 kg, and Una at 168 cm and 35.2 kg. Hair is offered in gold and hazelnut on both, and character choice is independent of the variant.

The most important technical point is this: the published degrees of freedom cover only the head and neck. There are 24 active degrees of freedom across head and neck, five in the neck and 19 in the facial muscles.

The face carries a 33-axis tendon network. From it come more than 30 natural micro-expressions and 90 percent emotional expression accuracy, and says a self-developed unified timing controller keeps voice-to-lip latency under 20 milliseconds and coordination error between expression muscles under 10 milliseconds.

The neck uses what the manufacturer calls an industry-first dual-fulcrum, four-bar-linkage biomimetic cervical spine, with five active degrees of freedom for pitch, roll and yaw and a linear servo precision of 0.06 mm.

On perception there is a six-microphone array on top of the head (±10 degree sound source localisation), a mono speaker at the back of the head, two RGB cameras in the eyes and two sensors in the chest. Compute runs on arm64 with an NVIDIA Jetson Orin reaching up to 200 TOPS. Connectivity is Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0.

The body is covered in ultra-biomimetic silicone skin with a multi-dimensional flexible electronic skin on top that is stated to sense a hug. The battery is a 21.6V, roughly 8100 mAh hot-swappable lithium pack giving more than approximately four hours on a full charge, with charging under 150 minutes while powered off.

The care envelope is narrow, and it plainly: the robot is not waterproof, the skin can only be wiped with a damp cloth, and rinsing and immersion are prohibited. The operating temperature is 0-40 degrees when not charging and 5-35 degrees while charging. RoHS and REACH compliance is stated.

On software it describes the Resonance-LM emotion large model, the Bio-Express expression drive system and the Agent Memory System, with the architecture presented as a dual system of a fast brain at the edge and a slow brain in the cloud.

A 33-Axis Tendon Network in the Face

The technical centre of gravity of the U1 is the face. a 33-axis facial tendon network and facial muscles with 19 active degrees of freedom, from which it derives more than 30 natural micro-expressions and 90 percent emotional expression accuracy. It states that a self-developed unified timing controller aligns facial expressions at millisecond level, keeping voice-to-lip latency under 20 milliseconds and coordination error between expression muscles under 10 milliseconds.

The Dual-Fulcrum Biomimetic Neck

The neck uses what the manufacturer calls an industry-first dual-fulcrum, four-bar-linkage biomimetic cervical spine. It carries five active degrees of freedom supporting pitch, roll and yaw, with a stated linear servo precision of 0.06 mm. On a companion robot the neck matters, because gaze direction and head angle are the first signals a person reads for attention.

Silicone Skin and Electronic Skin

The body is covered in ultra-biomimetic silicone skin, billed as 1:1 modelling from a real person with pores, veins and skin texture kept visible. A multi-dimensional flexible electronic skin is layered on top, and it is stated to sense a hug. The practical limit matters: the robot is not waterproof, the skin can only be wiped with a damp cloth, and rinsing and immersion are prohibited.

Eye Tracking and Sound Localisation

There is one RGB camera in each eye, and that real-time eye tracking lets the gaze follow a person on its own. The six-microphone array on top of the head localises a sound source to within ±10 degrees and performs intelligent noise reduction. The mono speaker at the back of the head produces the voice, and the timbre reproduces a real human voice down to breath and resonance.

Resonance-LM and the Dual Brain

On software UWorld foregrounds Resonance-LM, an emotion large model it says it developed for continuous companionship. The architecture is described as a human-like dual-system chain of thought: a fast brain at the edge handles immediate motion and basic expression reflexes, while a slow brain in the cloud handles deep emotional reasoning, long-range memory retrieval and personality correction. An Agent Memory System spanning time and place and the Bio-Express expression drive system are added to that.

Six Use Scenarios

Six scenarios are defined: emotional support, daily companionship, elderly care companionship, reception, culture and tourism exhibitions, and psychological care. All six are face-to-face roles built on conversation and interaction; no scenario requiring physical load or locomotion is defined.

ENGINEERING ANALYSIS

Technical Analysis of an Ultra-Biomimetic Companion Robot

The Published Degrees of Freedom Cover Only Head and Neck

This is the most important point for understanding the U1 series. The manufacturer's table has a single degrees-of-freedom row and it covers head and neck: 24 active degrees of freedom, five in the neck and 19 in the facial muscles. All six use scenarios are face-to-face conversation and interaction roles. The conclusion is that the U1 is not a walking, working humanoid but a companion robot built around expression and interaction. That is not a shortcoming but a different product class, and comparing it in the same table as a Walker or a Unitree H2 would be wrong.

A Narrow Care Envelope

There are the protection rating plainly, which is a rare piece of honesty: the robot is not waterproof, the outer silicone skin only tolerates daily wiping with a damp cloth, and rinsing, spraying and immersion are prohibited. The operating temperature is 0-40 degrees when not charging and narrows to 5-35 degrees while charging. For a care home or a hotel lobby those are constraints that directly shape planning: the robot cannot be placed where wet cleaning happens, and the charging point has to be climate controlled. Because the battery is hot-swappable, shift length is not capped at four hours, but the number of spare packs has to be planned.

The Bespoke Replication Service

Alongside the standard characters, UWorld also offers bespoke production. The process is described in five steps: a consultation with a dedicated adviser; matrix head scanning, photo-based modelling and voice recording; working the face and skin texture through micro-texture transfer printing; loading the emotion model with a personalised character and memory; then secure delivery and emotional calibration. The manufacturer places a note on its own page for this service stating that all custom projects must comply with laws and regulations. If such a service were considered in Turkey, personal and biometric data legislation would need separate assessment.

ENGINEERING EVALUATION

Engineering Assessment

The U1 Pro is a product that should not be judged by the usual humanoid robot metrics. The whole engineering investment sits in the face and neck: a 33-axis tendon network, 19 active facial muscles, a dual-fulcrum neck with 0.06 mm linear servo precision and lip sync under 20 milliseconds. Those figures are genuinely high for this class, and the manufacturer stating the protection rating, the temperature envelope and the battery detail plainly inspires confidence. Our recommendation to an evaluating organization is to request the body's motion capability from the manufacturer in writing.

For reception and interaction work, options orderable in Turkey today are found in the Pudu Robotics family.

The single degrees-of-freedom row in the technical parameter table covers head and neck (24 active, five in the neck and 19 in the facial muscles). All six defined use scenarios are face-to-face conversation and interaction. It would not be sound to plan a deployment without requesting the body's motion capability from the manufacturer in writing.

They are UWorld's standard character options. Nix stands 183 cm and weighs 42 kg, Una 168 cm and 35.2 kg. Every other technical value is shared: 24 active degrees of freedom across head and neck, the same sensor set, the same Jetson Orin compute, the same battery and the same protection rating. Hair is offered in gold and hazelnut on both. Character choice is independent of the variant.

There are the protection rating plainly: the robot is not waterproof, the outer silicone skin only tolerates daily wiping with a damp cloth, and rinsing, spraying and immersion are prohibited.
