UBTECH Robotics is a China-based humanoid robot manufacturer whose product family is among the broadest catalogues in the field. The family's industrial line is the Walker S series: the Walker S2 is designed for production lines at 176 cm, 70 kg, 52 degrees of freedom and a 2 m/s walking speed, and targets uninterrupted shifts by swapping its own battery within three minutes. Navigation uses U-SLAM, with a stated localisation accuracy of 10 cm, navigation accuracy of 20 cm and fine localisation accuracy of 1 cm. Maximum walking speed is 3 km/h, maximum uneven terrain adaptation 3 cm, maximum step height 15 cm and maximum slope angle 20 degrees. On perception there is a six-microphone array with a maximum five metre range, a 13 megapixel high-definition camera, a TOF cliff sensor for anti-fall protection and a stereo obstacle avoidance system in which six sensors work together across 360 degrees. Both arms are covered in soft electronic skin. The wheel motor runs with a suspension shock-resistant system. Navigation uses UBTECH's self-developed U-SLAM for centimetre-level path planning. A single charge powers the robot for up to eight hours and provides 24 hours of standby, with command, scheduled and automatic charging modes.

What is the difference between Walker and Cruzr?

The Walker family consists of bipedal walking humanoids while the Cruzr family uses a wheeled base. A walking robot reaches stairs and uneven ground but spends energy continuously to hold balance. A wheeled base gains energy efficiency and stability and gives up stairs. As an example, the Walker S2 and the Cruzr S2 share the same height (176 cm), the same waist pitch range and the same fourth-generation dexterous hands; the only difference is the base, and it brings the degrees of freedom down from 52 to 44.

Which UBTECH model for which job?

For production lines and heavy handling, the Walker S2 (15 kg payload, autonomous battery swapping) or, if a wheeled base is preferred, the Cruzr S2 (15 kg dual-arm).
