Overview
The UBTECH Panda Robot is a panda-themed humanoid sharing the same body as the Walker X. We supply UBTECH platforms to corporate projects in Turkey through enterprise supply, commissioning and technical integration. Configuration, delivery terms and investment are set by corporate quotation.
The published dimensions are 130 cm, 63 kg and 41 high-performance servo joints. Navigation uses U-SLAM with 10 cm localisation accuracy, 20 cm navigation accuracy and 1 cm fine localisation accuracy. Maximum walking speed is 3 km/h, maximum slope 20 degrees and maximum step height 15 cm.
The most notable aspect of the sensor set is that six-dimensional force and torque sensors sit at four points: two wrists and two ankles. The wrist units measure contact force during grasping and the ankle units ground reaction force. A six-microphone array, an RGBD camera, four-camera stereo vision, four ultrasonic sensors, a high-precision inertial sensor and two 2.5-inch full-range speakers are added to those.
The head carries a bionic eye design with dual flexible curved screens and a four-dimensional indicator system, and the robot holds more than 28 native emotion display types. It is multi-channel perception combining vision, hearing, touch and environment, with proactive interaction.
On manipulation a single arm carries 1.5 kg in the extended state with a 600 mm span. That is low for the class but consistent with the robot's job: the Panda Robot was designed for pavilion representation.
The manufacturer presents the robot as the only official AI robot partner of the China Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. The battery is 54.6V 10Ah lithium at 3.6 kg with a two-hour charge.
Four Layers of Force Sensing
The most notable item in the Panda Robot's sensor set is that six-dimensional force and torque sensors sit at four points: two wrists and two ankles. The wrist sensors measure contact force during grasping and the ankle sensors ground reaction force. On a walking robot the ankle force sensor is a direct input to the balance algorithm; without it a robot can only walk on a predicted surface.

The head carries a bionic eye design with dual flexible curved screens and a four-dimensional indicator system, and the robot holds more than 28 native emotion display types. For a robot representing a pavilion that choice is functional: the connection with a visitor is made by facial expression before speech. The manufacturer also describes multi-channel perception combining vision, hearing, touch and environment, with proactive interaction.

The China Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai
The manufacturer presents the Panda Robot as the only official AI robot partner of the China Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and positions it as an ambassador of peace and friendship. The panda appearance follows from that assignment: the body is the same as the Walker X and what differs is the exterior design and interaction concept. For an organization considering deploying a robot under its own brand, this is an example showing that shell customisation can genuinely be done.

A Shared Body with a Different Identity
The Same Platform as the Walker X
The Panda Robot and the Walker X publish the same figures: 130 cm, 63 kg, 41 degrees of freedom, a 3 km/h maximum speed, 10 cm localisation, 20 cm navigation and 1 cm fine localisation accuracy, a 20 degree slope, a 15 cm step, 3 cm of uneven terrain, a 54.6V 10Ah 3.6 kg battery and a two-hour charge. That shows the two derive from one platform. The Panda Robot additionally publishes single-arm payload in the extended state (1.5 kg) and arm span (600 mm); those two values do not appear on the Walker X page.
What a 1.5 kg Arm Payload Says
One-and-a-half kilograms with a single arm in the extended state is low for this class; for comparison, the Unitree H2 states a rated 7 kg per arm. That is not a shortcoming but a design choice. The Panda Robot is built for pavilion representation and interaction: it will shake hands, point the way, hand a visitor a small object. Carrying loads is not its job. Publishing the figure is still right: an organization planning to use the robot on a promotional stand can choose the weight of the object accordingly.

Engineering Assessment
Technically the Panda Robot is the Walker X itself; where it diverges is the shell and the interaction concept. For an organization that is actually good news: it shows the body platform can stay the same while the exterior changes. On sensing, six-dimensional force and torque sensors at four points make a strong set for this class and show the robot uses real feedback on both grasping and balance. That is the first question an organization planning a trade fair deployment will ask.
