Overview
AgiBot (AGIBOT Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd.) is a Shanghai-based Chinese company developing general-purpose humanoid robots. The G1 is the Genie series' general purpose robot designed for data collection and model inference; not a bipedal humanoid, but a dual-arm, height-adjustable upper body on a wheeled chassis.
Hardware highlights: 130-180 cm adjustable height, 150 kg, 70 cm span, 20 degrees of freedom excluding the end effector, a 6-DoF end effector replaceable with a two-finger gripper and six-axis force sensors on both arms. 3 RGBD and 5 fisheye cameras on the upper body, front and rear RGBD plus LiDAR on the chassis; compute on an NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 64 GB, runtime above 4 hours. Working height above 2 metres, continuous operation holding a 3 kg object with one arm, navigation of 95% of factory pathways and 20 mm obstacle mounting.
Its real job is data: millisecond-latency teleoperation over VR and motion capture, full-body joint recording, a quality filter of automated validation and manual review, and asynchronous cloud upload. An immediate stop with alarm on malfunction, collision protection, an emergency stop button and an HMI with one-click fault recovery form the safety and operations layer. Industrial-grade components, extreme-environment testing, large-scale production and immediate delivery.
For organizations with a G1 requirement we assess sourcing, timing and the alternatives deliverable today transparently.
Designed for Data Collection and Model Inference
The G1 is defined as a general purpose robot designed for data collection and model inference. The launch video shows how it works: a height-adjustable waist, two arms and an articulated head on a wheeled chassis; the operator's movements in VR are transferred to the robot and the recordings become training data for the model.
Multi-Scenario Operations
Suitable for industrial, commercial and domestic scenarios. Working height is above 2 metres, and it operates continuously while holding a 3 kg object with one arm. The feature text gives 26 DoF: the head rotates horizontally and vertically, the waist bends and stretches, rises and lowers. The chassis turns in place, navigates 95% of factory pathways and mounts obstacles up to 20 mm high.
Native Data Collection
Precise teleoperation with millisecond-latency VR and motion capture, recording full-body joint data. End-cloud collaborative data collection with automated validation and manual review ensures stringent data quality. Data is transmitted asynchronously to the cloud with the local backlog limited to under 2 hours.
Multidimensional Perception
Six-axis force sensors on both arms enable fine force control. Eight high-resolution cameras on the upper body provide all-round 3D perception. Front and rear RGBD cameras and LiDAR on the chassis handle precise obstacle avoidance. All sensors are meticulously calibrated.

Comprehensive Safety
Stops operations and triggers an alarm immediately in the event of a malfunction. Collision protection, an emergency stop button in place and chassis movement for obstacle avoidance are standard.

Stable Operation and Mass Production
Crafted with carefully selected industrial-grade components and tested in extreme environments for reliable, stable performance. A wired connection keeps data transmission stable. Large-scale production allows immediate delivery.
HMI System for Convenient and Efficient O&M
Real-time monitoring and alarm features for the robot and the remote; rich O&M buttons with one-click fault recovery; OTA upgrades.

Technical Analysis of the Data Collection Robot
Why Wheeled and Height-Adjustable?
The G1 is not a bipedal humanoid: the 150 kg wheeled chassis is meant to keep the robot working for hours without falls. Because the waist rises and lowers between 130 and 180 cm, benches, shelves and working heights above 2 metres are reached with the same body. Energy and compute that would go into balance are spent on data collection and manipulation, which explains the runtime of more than 4 hours.
The G1 as a Data Collection Platform
The robot's real job is collecting human demonstrations for embodied AI. Millisecond-latency teleoperation over VR and motion capture records the operator's motion as full-body joint data; automated validation and manual review filter data quality, and because cloud upload is asynchronous the local backlog stays under 2 hours. The Jetson AGX Orin 64 GB is enough for model inference on the same body, so a skill trained on the collected data is tested on the same robot.
Perception and Safety Layer
The 8 upper-body cameras (3 RGBD, 5 fisheye) serve manipulation, the chassis front and rear RGBD plus LiDAR serve navigation. Six-axis force sensors on both arms measure contact force, which makes precise insertion and placement possible. On the safety side there is an immediate stop with alarm on malfunction, collision protection and an emergency stop button; the wired connection reduces the risk of losing recordings when a data link drops.

Engineering Assessment
The G1 is not a performing humanoid but a data factory for teams that want to train models: teleoperation, a quality filter and cloud upload in one package. The wheeled chassis needs flat floors; the 20 mm obstacle limit and 150 kg mass keep it from being a field robot, but the same limits bring the risk of falls and lost recordings during data collection close to zero. Despite the name, it is not in the same class as the Unitree G1, a 35 kg bipedal research humanoid.

No, only the names are similar. The AgiBot G1 is a 150 kg dual-arm platform on a wheeled chassis, designed for data collection and model inference. The Unitree G1 is a 132 cm, roughly 35 kg bipedal research humanoid that can be ordered in Turkey today.
Height 130-180 cm, weight 150 kg, span 70 cm, 20 degrees of freedom excluding the end effector, a 6-DoF end effector replaceable with a two-finger gripper, six-axis force sensors on both arms, 3 RGBD and 5 fisheye cameras, NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 64 GB and more than 4 hours of runtime. It operates continuously holding a 3 kg object with one arm and mounts 20 mm obstacles.
Three use areas: industrial, commercial and domestic settings. Its core role is collecting data for embodied AI models and running model inference on the same body; manipulation skills such as grasping and placing are demonstrated over VR and recorded, and the trained model is tested on the robot.
With a VR headset or motion capture equipment at millisecond-level latency. The operator's motion is recorded as full-body joint data; recordings pass automated validation and manual review, then upload asynchronously to the cloud with the local backlog kept under 2 hours. The connection is wired, so the data link stays stable.
