The X-Humanoid Tien Kung Omni is the compact humanoid and open development platform from the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center. The aim is to take a small humanoid out of the lab and into research, education and industrial scenarios.
Hardware highlights: 135 cm tall, 39.5 kg and 31 degrees of freedom (6 per leg, 7 per arm, 3 in the waist, 2 in the neck). The flagship edition carries a 2070 TFLOPS AI domain controller and allows an end-to-end vision-language-action model to run on the robot itself. The perception package consists of a depth camera, LiDAR and a high-precision IMU, supporting standing, walking, running, obstacle crossing and mobile manipulation.
The body carries an IP53 protection rating with a designed lifespan beyond 15,000 hours, and the robot recovers autonomously after a fall; the operating range is -10 °C to 40 °C. Three layers are open to developers, covering joints and sensors, the system and the motion control API, and the platform connects to the Huisi Kaiwu secondary development environment.

Motion Control Video

Three-Layer Open Interface
Three layers are open to developers: joints and sensors, the system, and the motion control API. The platform connects to the Huisi Kaiwu secondary development environment and ships with a data collection system and tooling. That structure targets developer scenarios ranging from university research to secondary school competitions and vocational college training.

Research and Education
The first use area targets universities, research institutes, secondary schools and vocational education: secondary development for scientific research, competition development and hands-on training on a real robot. Deployment, commissioning, maintenance and after-sales training are covered within that scope.

Guiding and Performance
For venues such as science centres, exhibitions, museums and stores, the platform supports guiding interaction, mobile wayfinding and basic performance. The aim is to raise the service experience and the impact of a technology showcase.

What 135 cm and 39.5 kg Mean
The Omni weighs a little over half of a full-size humanoid. That means a body one person can carry in a lab and one that does less damage to itself and its surroundings in a fall. At the same time its 31 degrees of freedom match most full-size models: 6 joints per leg and 7 per arm are enough to study real humanoid motion in teaching and competition scenarios. The price of the smaller body is paid in payload, and no payload figure is published.
Why 2070 TFLOPS Matters
The AI domain controller on the flagship edition delivers 2070 TFLOPS, a budget sufficient to run an end-to-end vision-language-action model on the robot itself. In practice that means task execution needs neither a cloud connection nor a workstation placed beside it, so network latency and dropped connections leave the equation.
Open Interfaces and the Education Scenario
The three-layer open interface is what matters for educational institutions. The joint and sensor layer allows low-level control experiments, the system layer covers the operating environment, and the motion control API allows application development on top of a ready motion library.
