Overview
EngineAI is a Shenzhen-based Chinese company developing legged robots and its own joint actuators. The T800 is its full-size high-dynamic general-purpose robot: 173 cm tall, 75-85 kg by edition, 450 Nm peak joint torque, speed of 3 m/s or more, and 4-5 hours of runtime with active cooling in the leg joints.
There are four editions. Basic and Open Source carry 25 degrees of freedom; Pro reaches 43 with 29 body plus 14 hand DoF, Max 46 with 32 plus 14. The Pro and Max dexterous hands offer 7 DoF per hand, a 5 kg payload and tactile sensing. Compute is an Intel robot PC (optional RK3588) with a Jetson Orin NX 16 GB (Basic) or an AGX Orin 64 GB; perception is an Intel depth camera on Basic and stereo vision plus 360-degree LiDAR on the others. Joints are planetary with absolute dual encoders, with added linear force control on Pro and Max.
The standard ternary lithium battery is 71.4 V 20 Ah with a 2.5-hour charge; the optional solid-state pack is 74.8 V 40 Ah with a 3-hour charge. The body is clad in aircraft-grade aluminium alloy panels; Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB and LAN, microphone, speaker, head, chest and knee lamps and a handheld remote are standard. Use areas are logistics warehouses, hotel service, sales associate work and human-robot collaboration; the motion repertoire includes martial-arts demonstrations such as combination punches, flying kicks, roundhouse kicks and capoeira. The FA01 fighting armour is a separate accessory.

What 450 Nm and Active Cooling Give Together
High peak torque alone gives short bursts; without thermal management, joints derate within minutes. Active cooling in the T800's leg joints aims to keep 450 Nm-class joints at peak performance for 4 hours in high-intensity work such as a combat show or a warehouse shift. For a 75-85 kg body, runtime matters as much as torque.
Choosing an Edition: DoF, Perception and Development
The Basic edition, with 25 DoF, an Intel depth camera and an Orin NX 16 GB, targets show scenarios; Open Source adds an AGX Orin 64 GB, stereo vision and LiDAR to the same body and opens secondary development. Engineering Assessment
What sets the T800 apart is runtime and torque: 450 Nm joints, active cooling and a 4-5 hour battery move a full-size humanoid from show equipment toward a shift worker. The trade-off is that 75-85 kg complicates handling and safety planning, and the Basic edition has no secondary development.
