Linear and rotary actuators plus dexterous hands together account for about 75% of the total. Why Are Actuators So Expensive?

A handful of makers — Harmonic Drive, Maxon, Faulhaber — control the critical share of this market. China's cost advantage kicks in exactly here: the same robot class can be built at a third of the cost on the Chinese component ecosystem.
