What is the difference between R1 variants?
R1 AIR: 20 degrees of freedom, monocular camera — entry level. R1 (standard): 26 DoF, binocular camera, waist and head joints. R1 EDU: the only variant open to secondary development; expands to 40 DoF with an optional NVIDIA Jetson Orin (40-100 TOPS) and optional dexterous hands. If you will run your own code, the EDU is required.
What are the R1's AI and software features?
The R1 ships with an integrated multimodal large model processing voice and vision in one model, a 4-mic array, speaker, WiFi 6 + Bluetooth 5.2 and OTA software updates. It works out of the box without calibration; the smart quick-release battery provides about 1 hour of runtime.
