Pudu GT3 vs GT5 vs GT7: Which Robotic Mower?

PUDU Turkey Hub & Competence Center

The Pudu GT series has three models, and the difference sits on two axes: scale and cutting method. Deciding on the wrong axis is expensive: buying a 950 kg reel machine for an ordinary park wastes budget, and mowing stadium turf with rotary blades wastes quality. This page puts all three side by side.

All three in one table

Width of cut: GT3 914.4 mm (36 in) · GT5 1.52 m (60 in) · GT7 1600 mm (62 in).
Cutting method: GT3 and GT5 rotary blades · GT7 triplex reel unit.
Height of cut: GT3 38-114 mm · GT5 38-152 mm · GT7 5-50 mm.
Weight: 450 kg · 850 kg · 950 kg.
Battery: 13 kWh · 26 kWh · 26 kWh.
Runtime: 4-5 h · 8-10 h · 8-10 h.
Area per charge: 20,000 m² · 65,000 m² · 70,000 m².
Max slope: GT5 20° · GT7 30°.
Protection: IP66 on the GT3 and GT5.

Maximum mowing speed is 10 km/h on all three, and all three transit autonomously between fields.

Rotary or reel

This is the most misunderstood difference in the series. Rotary blades cut with a horizontally spinning blade: fast, robust and good in long grass. The GT3 and GT5 use them.

A reel unit runs the blades of a rotating cylinder against a fixed bedknife, cutting the grass like scissors. The result is a cleaner cut surface and a more uniform texture, which is why golf and professional football grounds prefer it. On the GT7 three cutting units float independently, and articulated suspension tracks ground contours so the height of cut stays constant even on undulating turf.

The decision rule is simple: if cut quality is measured (pitch standard, playing surface), choose reel; if cut speed and cleanliness is measured, choose rotary.

Collection: all three, in different forms

While mowing, the GT3 and GT5 vacuum clippings, fallen leaves and light turf debris into the hopper in the same pass, so no second collection run is needed. On the GT7 this is a mode: plain mowing or active collection with a dual-fan vacuum, depending on turf conditions. On all three, a full hopper sends the robot to the dumping point on its own; it empties and returns precisely to the breakpoint.

In addition, with its blades disabled the GT3 becomes a walkway sweeper, its dual side brushes gathering edge leaves into the vacuum intake. That means use outside the mowing season too.

Positioning and pattern

The GT7 separates here: RTK, LiDAR and vision fusion give ±2.5 cm accuracy. Without it, lanes drift from pass to pass and the pattern breaks down. Because cutting angle, directional rotation and lane offset are configurable, the GT7 produces professional striping automatically.

The GT3 maps after a single autonomous lap and detects the turf-to-paved border. The GT5 explores the field on its own to produce precision operational maps, and target areas can also be geofenced from online or satellite imagery; high-precision positioning lets it mow to within 10 cm of edges.

Which site, which model

GT3: green areas up to 2 hectares, residential and campus grounds, facilities that also need walkway sweeping.
GT5: parks, campuses and large commercial green areas of 6-7 hectares, where fast wide-area mowing with collection is the priority. Its active anti-fall protection is additionally valuable on sites with water edges, steps and steep embankments.
GT7: stadiums, professional football and golf grounds, facilities where cut quality and striping are contractual. Its 30° slope capability covers rolling terrain too.
