Unitree Go2 and Xiaomi CyberDog 2: Technical Comparison

UNITREE Turkey Hub & Competence Center
The robot dog competition of consumer electronics giants is heating up. Will Xiaomi's ecosystem or Unitree's robotics expertise prevail?

The model we carry

What This Comparison Does and Does Not Give You

The Unitree Go2 figures below come straight from the manufacturer's technical data. Instead we cover the structural axes where the two platforms genuinely diverge: positioning, developer access, procurement and after-sales.

A Difference of Positioning

The CyberDog 2 is a compact, demonstration-oriented platform positioned as part of Xiaomi's consumer electronics ecosystem. The Go2 is a four-variant product line from a manufacturer whose only business is robotics, spanning entry level to research: AIR, PRO, X and EDU. That is more than a catalogue difference, it is a fork in the road: with the Go2 you can move up within the same platform family as your needs grow.

The Go2's Verifiable Numbers

A 15 kg body, 700 × 310 × 400 mm standing and 760 × 310 × 200 mm crouched. Walking payload is 8 kg, or 12 kg on the EDU; standing capacity is 10 kg on the AIR and 12 kg on the other variants. Speed is 2.5 m/s on the AIR, 3.5 m/s on the PRO and X, and 5.0 m/s in Rage Mode. Slope is 30 degrees on the AIR and 40 on the others, with 15-16 cm step clearance. The full variant difference table sits on the Go2 product page.

Developer Access: The Real Split

In research and enterprise projects the deciding factor is not top speed but how far into the code you can reach. The Go2 EDU grants full SDK and ROS 2 access; low-level joint control, running your own navigation stack and deploying a reinforcement learning policy all depend on it. On consumer-oriented platforms that layer is typically closed or restricted. For a university lab or an R&D team the decision is usually made right here; our Python SDK guide is the place to start building on the Go2.

Procurement and After-Sales in Turkey

Service is the line item most often overlooked when buying a robot dog. As Unitree's Turkey partner, Robotlar.org provides installation, training, spare parts and technical service, with customs, VAT and warranty defined within the price. There is in practice no established authorised service and spare-parts channel for the CyberDog 2 in Turkey, so a fault leaves you dependent on an importer or on sending the unit abroad. In an enterprise purchase that can matter more than the price of the device.
